Join a local expert and wander though history learning about the important role played by this small port town in shaping the history of Ireland and the world. The tour will bring you from 500BC to the modern day with tales of love, loss, scandal, innovation.  

Forged by railways and shipwrecks, Dun Laoghaire (Dun Leary) has a rich maritime,  commercial and technological history including innovative energy saving rail systems to breakthroughs in radio technology as well and the monumental engineering feat that is the iconic pincer harbor.  

The construction of the harbour and the rail system left an indelible mark on the surrounding areas attracting some of the most famous poets, scientists, statesmen and royalty to visit and make their homes here.

• The tour will last between 60 and 90 minutes,
• Please dress for the weather,  the famous harbour was built due to the danger of the changeable sea conditions in the area, and sea squalls can deliver rain without notice.
• The tour will cover approximately 2 Kilometers or 1.2 Miles over relatively flat ground
